West Liberty Family Adventures
Ohio CavernsOhio Caverns is the largest and most beautiful of all Ohio caves and “America’s Most Colorful Caverns”. Visitors will marvel over the exquisite crystal-white stalactite and stalagmite formations and the diversity and coloring of formations. A 35-acre park provides shelter houses, picnic area and a playground.

Piatt CastlesMac-A-Cheek & Mac-O-Chee Castles are located 1 and 2 miles east of West Liberty on SR 245. (Currently, Mac-O-Chee Castle is closed to tourists while it undergoes renovations.) These limestone mansions were built in the 1800’s as homes for the families of brothers Abram & Donn Piatt. They provide visitors the opportunity to learn about the Piatt's family life and heritage while viewing original collections of natural history and Native American and military artifacts

Simon Kenton Bike TrailThe Simon Kenton Bike Trail can be accessed in West Liberty off of SR 245 on the west end of town. It runs to the YMCA in the east end of Urbana, Ohio, meandering south to downtown Springfield, Ohio. Mostly flat, it's mainly a rail trail with lots of shady areas with wide open spots full of wildflowers and views of corn and soybean fields.

Freshwater FarmsJust south of West Liberty on US 68, visit Freshwater Farms to get up close and personal with several fish species, including sturgeon. It’s fun for all ages and it’s free! The petting zoo, located in the hatchery, is open year round during regular business hours.

Cedar Bog Nature PreserveCedar Bog is a unique fen with endangered plants and animals located in Champaign County just south of Urbana, Ohio, on Woodburn Rd. The fen was created by glaciers, which left it the most diverse ecosystem in the state. A must see for nature lovers!

Honey Birch FarmLooking for a rustic and charming barn for your wedding in the country? Consider Honey Birch Farm, located between West Liberty and Bellefontaine, Ohio. Enjoy 90 acres of scenic, peaceful and rural farm setting for your wedding. Honey Birch Farm also offers an additional tent setting to accommodate up to 250 guests.
