West Liberty Family Adventures

Ohio Caverns

Ohio Caverns is the largest and most beautiful of all Ohio caves and “America’s Most Colorful Caverns”. Visitors will marvel over the exquisite crystal-white stalactite and stalagmite formations and the diversity and coloring of formations. A 35-acre park provides shelter houses, picnic area and a playground.

Piatt Castles

Mac-A-Cheek & Mac-O-Chee Castles are located 1 and 2 miles east of West Liberty on SR 245. (Currently, Mac-O-Chee Castle is closed to tourists while it undergoes renovations.) These limestone mansions were built in the 1800’s as homes for the families of brothers Abram & Donn Piatt. They provide visitors the opportunity to learn about the Piatt's family life and heritage while viewing original collections of natural history and Native American and military artifacts

Simon Kenton Bike Trail

The Simon Kenton Bike Trail can be accessed in West Liberty off of SR 245 on the west end of town. It runs to the YMCA in the east end of Urbana, Ohio, meandering south to downtown Springfield, Ohio. Mostly flat, it's mainly a rail trail with lots of shady areas with wide open spots full of wildflowers and views of corn and soybean fields.

Freshwater Farms

Just south of West Liberty on US 68, visit Freshwater Farms to get up close and personal with several fish species, including sturgeon. It’s fun for all ages and it’s free! The petting zoo, located in the hatchery, is open year round during regular business hours.

Champaign Aviation Museum

The Champaign Aviation Museum is open to the public with free admission.  The Museum is open Tuesday through Saturday,  10AM to 4PM.  Check the Museum's online calendar for special events and exhibits.

Marmon Valley Farms

Marmon Valley Farm is a Christ-centered, family-owned farm. Visit with cows, goats, chickens, miniature horses, and rabbits. With activities such as horseback riding, summer camp, archery, climbing wall, hay rides, and barn dances going on, the Farm is a lively and wholesome place to bring your family!

Cedar Bog Nature Preserve

Cedar Bog is a unique fen with endangered plants and animals located in Champaign County just south of Urbana, Ohio, on Woodburn Rd. The fen was created by glaciers, which left it the most diverse ecosystem in the state. A must see for nature lovers!

Honey Birch Farm

Looking for a rustic and charming barn for your wedding in the country? Consider Honey Birch Farm, located between West Liberty and Bellefontaine, Ohio. Enjoy 90 acres of scenic, peaceful and rural farm setting for your wedding. Honey Birch Farm also offers an additional tent setting to accommodate up to 250 guests. In addition to weddings, the site is open to hosting rehearsals, parties, reunions, corporate events, church and scout outings.

Mad River Mountain

Ohio's largest ski resort featuring 144 skiable acres, 20 trails, 12 lifts, a 300 foot vertical drop and 4 Terrain Parks for all abilities.  Mad River Mountain also contains Ohio's largest tubing park with ten 1,000-foot lanes and a brand new base lodge. Mad River Mountain is located just 10 miles from Bobbi's Bungalow along Route 33.

Putt & Play Golf Center

Indoor Putt Putt Golf Course, Laser Tag Arena, Virtual Reality, and Golf Simulators in Downtown Bellefontaine. Check out the indoor Glow Putt on weekends!

West Liberty

A short stroll from the bungalow, downtown West Liberty features several quaint, one-of-a-kind shops. Find hidden treasures, unique antiques, and special gifts during your stay. Or head a couple of blocks in the opposite direction to satisfy your sweet tooth at the world famous Marie's Candies!

Urbana

Travel 10 miles south on US 68 to Urbana, Ohio, home to a truly unique collection of vintage shops. Take a stroll though charming historical downtown Urbana, shopping for treasures from the past, wonderful collectibles and re-loved creations!

Bellefontaine

​Travel 8 miles north to downtown Bellefontaine for award winning brick oven pizza, the #1 beer bar in Ohio, and other awesome eateries, coffee shops and sweet treats. Be sure to explore the great shopping district full of antiques, gifts & home decor, furniture, fun educational items and more.

Liberty Hills Golf Club

Walk through golf history as you tour a vintage front nine holes created in 1920, known then as the Bellefontaine Country Club.  You'll discover demanding pinpoint approaches to small, firm and fast greens, placed among giant oaks. Gently rolling hills offer scenic vistas of the Logan County countryside with McKee's Creek meandering through both nines.

Designed in 1992 by award winning architect Barry Serafin, the second nine holes offer a modern approach. Bent grass fairways and undulating greens are nestled among lakes and trees.  With risk-reward holes abound, the back nine is sure to leave you with memories to discuss at the 19th hole. Elevated tees and well-placed bunkers create a challenging, yet rewarding nine holes of golf.

Woodland Golf Club

Golfing at Woodland is a pleasurable experience from the nice country drive out to the course until you leave the course several hours later. Woodland provides an enjoyable golfing experience along with a comfortable facility to meet your golfing needs. The Woodland staff strives to maintain excellent service for you and your guests.
