When the Game Is Over: A Comfortable Place for Sports Families to Stay in West Liberty

​Sports families know that a tournament, football game, camp or competition is rarely just a two-hour event.

There are early mornings, long drives, coolers packed with snacks, uniforms and equipment everywhere, excited kids, tired parents—and sometimes another event waiting for you the very next day.

That’s one of the reasons I love having families stay at Bobbi’s Bungalow Guest House in West Liberty, Ohio.

Over the years, I’ve welcomed families who were in town for softball tournaments, West Liberty-Salem football games, the Jeff Jordan Trained wrestling camp, the Bellefontaine Band Spectacular, and other youth activities. And I've learned that sometimes what a family needs most after a busy day isn't another hotel room.

More Than Just Softball
West Liberty has become a destination for families involved in all kinds of youth activities.

I've had families stay at Bobbi's Bungalow while their teams were in the area to play against West Liberty Force Fastpitch. For traveling softball families, having a comfortable house to come back to after a day at the field can make a tournament weekend just a little easier.

West Liberty Lions Club Park also hosts softball tournaments, including the annual Co-Ed Slow Pitch Softball Tournament held during the Labor Day Festival.

Whether your team is playing against West Liberty or you're coming to town for another tournament, I'd be happy to have your family stay at the bungalow.

Football, Marching Bands & a Very Busy Weekend
One of my favorite guest stories involves a family whose teen was a member of the marching band for the opposing school at a football game against the West Liberty-Salem Tigers.

And their weekend wasn't over when the football game ended.

After leaving West Liberty, the family was traveling on to Columbus for a band competition. Their teen had another performance ahead of them, making for a very full weekend of football, marching band and travel.

It was a busy weekend!

Instead of driving on after a long football game, the family stayed at Bobbi's Bungalow.

They loved having a comfortable place where everyone could relax, get some rest and enjoy a little downtime before heading on to their next competition.

Those are the stories that make having a guest house so rewarding.

I've also had families stay at Bobbi's Bungalow while their young wrestler participated in the Jeff Jordan Trained wrestling camp in nearby St. Paris, Ohio.

Camps like these can mean long days of training and learning. At the end of the day, having a comfortable house where everyone can relax and enjoy some downtime is a welcome change from being on the go.

And for parents traveling with siblings, grandparents or the whole family, having a house instead of a single hotel room can make the experience much more enjoyable.

Youth sports and activities often mean that parents are spending their weekends traveling from one town to another.
